There are two categories of polyurethane system, which are rigid systems and flexible systems. The rigid polyurethane foam is a reaction of two main components. That is the reaction of polyols and isocyanates along with a blowing agent and other additives. Together, it produces a thermosetting reticulated polymer. Used a lot for controlled temperature transport, aeraulic systems, fake wood and structural, profiles and frames and other things.

The processing of paint produces a substantial volume of waste and byproducts. Any paint production plant has to have a wastewater treatment system on-site. This facility would process all of the liquids produced on-site. It can also treat and store run-off water. The Environmental Protection Agency, or EPA, rules must be implemented by these buildings. They must be tracked 24 hours a day, and record reviews must be done on a daily basis. The facility's requirements allow for the treatment of all liquid waste on-site. Latex sludge can be recycled and used as a filler in other materials. Water-based solvents may also be recycled and repurposed as fuel in other sectors. On the other hand, flexible polyurethane systems are produced for special applications in many sectors. Those sectors include furnishing, “memory foam” products, toys, automotive and several others. For instance, for memory foam, a few additives are added to the polyurethane foam to increase viscosity and elasticity. It produces a foam called, viscoelastic polyurethane foam. This enables the foam to soften itself and then resume its shape after use which will guarantee mattresses or pillows of the highest quality. That is why a lot of people like memory foam.
